Pyramid Lake
Pyramid Lake is a MASSIVE freshwater lake about 30 minutes north of Reno, NV. This lake is huge, boasting upwards of 4ft long Trout. The water is clear, and represents a true-to-life desert lake, high desert to be exact. I recommend this to anyone looking to get away for some great photography, or just to camp.
The shots are a few candid’s while I had a moment to grab them. Nothing compelling, just a few to represent the terrain, lake, some wildlife, and a couple of friends who didn’t mind having their, well, pictures taken. Note in one of the images , the moon appears in the image ghost, which is an effect of my UV filter that does a sort of double reflection between the front element of the lens, and the filter itself. I normally trash an image like this however, it really blew my mind seeing the moon within that ghost.
And for those that want to know where Pyramid Lake can be found, check out the map above. It’s about 30 minutes north of Reno, but you’d think you’re on Mars in the middle of nowhere.
